Default Building a 5.7L Olds 350.

Customer has an '87 Cutlass with a worn out 307.

He's decided he wants me to build him an Olds 350. Not a problem but I have limited Olds experience so it'll be a steep learning curve. My experience so far has been all Chevy engines, with some Ford and Dodge stuff along the way.

I'll have a few other threads started looking for specific component questions but if anyone has some immediate suggestions about building a 350, chime in.

I think I want a '72 / '73 or earlier so I can avoid the smog heads right? I know I'm buying a used block to start things off and I was going to look for a '72? Good idea?

72 is a good starting point. I posted what heads to look for in the other thread.
The blocks are all the same from 68-76 so that's not to worry, just the heads.
