Default Rod to piston clearance

The parts I have are a set of 7.25" Child & Alberts 200 series aluminum rods and the pistons are a set of wiseco with a 1" comp height. The problem I have is the small end of the rod is too thick and has a large outer radius. The rod will need to be bushed as it is a 1" pin hole and the piston is a .998 pin. I dont think that thinning the sides of the rod to fit between the piston pin mounts will be an issue. I do think that the small end of the rod will need to be ground to a smaller radius as does the inside of the piston, so the small end of the rod does rub the inside of the piston as it works itself back and forth. My question is what should that clearance be?
