hello ,i have a few questions about my olds that i hope someone can answer.first i have been trying to find the air and fuel mixture screws on the carb. are they hidden somewhere? my next question is why cant i just get rid of the ac and smog pump alltogether,i tried to remove both and run the car that way but the alternator which is on the other side of the motor would not stop squiling no matter how tight i made it.im more concerned about the carb,i got the car in virginia and i live in colorado,i have never made the adjustment for the altitude,so at times the car seems like it has no power at all.its like driving a big truck with a v-6.anyone got any help?

TK,

Mixture screws are where they always are...front baseof the carb. It may have plastic caps over them. Carefuly break them off. (I mean don't bend the screws!) Don't forget to check your timing, too.

The 307is notorious for that. It needs some type of pulley to balance out the torque on the water pump. You will probably find your water pumps don't last too long, either.

Check out www.oldspower.com. Lotsa g-body guys there.
