I have a 87 Olds 98 regency that died and will not restart. I had the coil checked and they said it was good I replaced the crankshaft sensor, checked the gap on the plugs etc etc etc. What am I missing ???? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You sure it's got no spark? If so, I'm betting it's the HEI Ignition Control Module. Go with AC/Delco. A couple of bucks more, but quality is muchbetter than the Chinese cr*p.

Under the distributor cap. I's about $40.

May I also suggest a manual for it? You can find the real honest-to-gosh Olds shop manuals on ebay for pretty cheap. The Chiltons are pretty much worthless unless you get the Professional Series.

I forgot to mention that this particular OLDS has the distributor-less Ignition system. I had the coil pack checked out and they said it was fine. Reading the manual it says that a faulty crankcase sensor will cause a no start so I replaced it and still nothing. Thanks

Well, you certainly have surpassed my knowledge. I'm still stuck in the 70's (1971 Cutlass convertble). I hope you can find someone that isn't as "worthless" on "them new-fangled thingies".

Good luck.

THE IGNITION CONTROL MODULE IS LOCATED UNDER THE COIL PACKS AND THE COMPUTER RARELY SETS A CODE FOR THIS

DO YOU HAVE A TACH IF SO IS IT SHOWING RPM , WOULD ASK IF YOU HAVE INJECTOR PULSE HARD TO CHECK WITHOUT SPECIAL TOOL

OR GRAPH TYPE MULTIMETER
