Don't make fun of me for doing this...I've already done that myself enough this week. So I was changing my spark plugs and when I was hand tightening the middle plug up front, I threaded it in wrong, and after my first two turns with my socket wrench I realized I cross threaded my head. Is there a solution to fixing this besides getting a new head or am I in for a long repair?

Pull the head and use a "thread chaser" on it. It might be salvagable. If not, it's time for a Helicoil.

Thanks Texasred. It doesn't look that bad and a tap looks like it should do the job.

Yeah, they're aluminum.
