Crooked steering wheel problem
Olds Alero 2002 6cyl 3.4 liter. 21,000 miles, almost showroom condition.
Hello all.
Several alignments by certified mechanics have not corrected slightly crooked steering wheel problem which occurred after steering rack replacement recently at 21,000 miles.
Does anybody know if it is possible to remove the steering wheel (it has an air bag) and then reposition it one notch over on the spline?
The new steering rack (Delco) is great, by the way, there's a noticable improvement all around.
Thanks, JC

If the alignments have not fixed it then they are not aligning it correctly. They need to CENTER the steering wheel before they do the toe adjustments or it will never be centered.
DO NOT try and fix this be removing the steering wheel. All that will do it change the look of where the wheel is. What you will end up with is an uneven lock to lock due to it.
