I have a 2001 Olds Alero with a 2.4L 4 cyl. that misses at around 50 mph then runs ok at higher speeds. Sometimes it will idle rough while stopped but not every time I stop.

Also, the battery light will come on and ding every now and then even though I have replaced the battery and the alternator.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

It just goes flat and acts like it is going to die, and now I have noticed it will idle rough and act like it will die when stopped but not every time I stop.

I WOULD SUGGEST A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK AT A MECHANIC OF YOUR CHOICE OR A PARTS STORE THAT WILL GIVE YOU ONE FREE. GOTTA BE SOME KIND OF CODE COMING UP. IF YOU HOLD A LITTLE THROTTLE TO THE ENGINE WILL IT RUN SMOOTHLY???

Getting the code read is what I was going to do next. I have already changed the alternator, the battery, the drive belt, the fuel filter and the spark plugs.

Thank you for your answer, I'll post what I find out so we all can learn from this.

I almost forgot to say, yes I can throttle through the rough idle and the high speed missing.
