Chassis Service Manuals have a VIN decoder and the body plate decoder in the first section. Wild About Cars has Olds chassis service manuals available for download from 1964-72 and we will be uploading 1973-1977 through the Summer.

Default need to figure out what motor i got

all i know about it is its a big block,,,,the code by the oil tube is 7582 GM 57L D and there is a A5 on the front of the intake so someone please help me out.....just message me or reply to this

You apparently have a Motor Home block from 1976 or later. This is not a desireable block - look to see if it has a provision for a clutch fork ball (near the starter position on the driver's side). Some of these blocks even have "windowed" mains as they were cast by Pontiac Division. I think this is one of those blocks because of the "GM" in the casting number.

Is the "D" a large Letter or is it the same size as the numbers? A Picture is worth a thousand words.
