I have a 1985 oldsmobile calais 3.0l its been acting funny last week it died out on me now it will start but then dies right ouy agin in like three or four seconds and if you press the gas peadle it dies even faster i have recently don plugs and wires timming chain please any ideas will really help Thanks

 

I don't know a lot about that particualr engine, but you might pull a couple plugs right after it dies and see if they are wet with fuel, maybe it's flooding.

I would also make sure it's getting enough fuel-a weak fuel pump may allow it to start but be unable to provide enough pressure for it to run. Fuel filter blocakge could also do that.
