I need to replace the thermostat on my 91 Ciera with a 3.3 engine but I can't get at it. It is below the throttle body and behind the exhaust crossover. I can't get a wrench on the bolts because of all the hoses and tubes. It looks like I could get to it if I took the crossover pipe off. Is that the onlyway? Thanks for any help.

I'm not sure about the Ciera, but on the Alero the crossover does have to come off. It shouldn't be too hard, but I'd let the bolts soak a few hours with some WD40 to help loosen them first.

I removed the bolts from the crossover pipe but could not remove the pipe because of the cupped type connections. I was able to rotate the pipe enough to get a socket on the studs and replace the t-stat. Thanks for the advise.
