I''ve got an 83 Hurst Olds. I''m trying to change the oil pan gasket which leaks like mad right now. In order to do this you need to raise the engine and remove the mounts from the engine (they get in the way of removing the pan otherwise). The problem I''m having is that I can''t seem to raise the engine far enough to clear the mounts. It looks like the tranny filler tube is in the way. The service manual does not indicate that this needs to be removed and I really don''t want to.

I would appreciate any help you can give - thanks so much!
