My 2001 wont crank over and no dash lights. Can turn key several times than it will show dash lights and start. This started shortly after replacing the ignition switch. The old switch cause my heater/AC head control to malfunction and the cruiseto work intermittently. This fix those problems but now I have this one. Edited by: Nascarpit08

 

Had a very similar problem with my ''01 Silhouette - had to replace the security module around the ignition. First try another key to see if the system is having trouble reading that passkey. Had to take it to the dealer for the repair. They had to cut a new key, then relearn the new key to the system - solved the intermittant no start.
