I have a 1999 intrigue with the dual zone auto clinmate control. It has worked great until about a month ago. Now when you change the temperature the air does not seem to blend correctly any more. It seems all the heat comes out on the driverside and the cooler air comes out on the passenger side. It has not been a big problem since it is winter but now that temps are risingI need to get this fixed.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Good luck. The same thing happened to my 98 intrigue. They took it in the
shop spent 700 dollars and all we got was it is in the wiring. When I turn
the cool on the passenger side is cooler and when I turn the heat on the
passenger side heats but not the driver side. They changed all the basic
parts and checked everything. Sadly they said it must be within the wiring.

I willing to bet they didn''''t do $700 dollars worth of work to fix it though.

My guess would be the blend door motor, that is if it has one. I know nothing about the car. I do know most vehicles have a little box with a motor in it, the motor turns a gear which turns an arm that opens and closes the door.

Looks like this. This is off a 2005 Ford Expedition but I have seen alot of them and they all look the same no matter what make they are off of.

One of the gears gets stripped and the motor can''''t turn gear.

The whiter of the two gears is the one thats stripped. You can see the tooth that was stripped off laying by the gear.Edited by: rustyballs_69

I think you have something here Rusty. Since the one side of the climate control seems to work I bet I probably have two different controllers. How can I find out if my Intrigue has them and what the part number would be?

Thanks,

PeterG

I was told that the problem with the climate control is with the wiring within the ignition switch. You have to take the ignition switch and clean the terminals or replace it. I had the motor changed in my door and it still does the same thing. Start with the ignition switch it is a much cheaper repair then the door motor or the wiring.

I would guess it would be somewhere by the blower motor. I will see if I can find a part number for it.

And I will get that second picture fixed.
