I see a lot of people with the driving lights out. I have been through 6 turn signal bulbs myself. They keep melting. Is there any fix for this.

 

Make sure you are using the right bulb

I have the same problem with melting front amber turn signal lights on a 99 Intrigue. I have replaced the bulbs numerous times and no fuses are blown. It has to be a short, but I can't find it. Anyone with any ideas I would appriciate them.

 

You should change the terminals. Check the junk yards or
stealership (dealership). I think it will cost you around 20
bucks. Check to see if the contacts around the housing
itself. If they look burnt you should change it out.

i found bulbs that were all glass. the bottoms of other bulbs are of different material and were melting. changed mine twice in one week til found all glass ones. havent had problems for 2years now. good luck.

 

My mother had the same problem on her 98 Intrigue, it's not the bulbs, it's the wiring harness. The ground wire isn't sufficient to hold the load when the turn signals are activated, so it overloads the bulb and then you get to change it. My solution to this was to cut the ground wire from the turn signal terminal harness and give it it's own ground wire. I actually grounded it on the front core support. It only took about 7-9" of wire and one loop connector for a screw. She hasn't had a problem with the turn signals in over 3 years since I did that to her car. Food for thought, good luck.

I had the same problem until I replaced the wiring asembly behind the bulb. It was the left hand turn light. Fixed it.
