Hello, New guy with old cars to banter with you folks. I drove a 1974 Olds Cutlass for years. I bought it from a friend of mines wife and drove it for 7-8 years. I used to do some of the service work on it when she owned it, and my brother actually did the new car setup on it when it was new. The body integrity was getting pretty bad and I finally bought a new car to drive. I did keep the 350 engine though. It was such a good running engine that I thought it might be a good engine for my old chevy truck. When I bought it, it took about a quart of oil every 600-700 miles. I put some new gaskets on it and replaced a leaking sending unit. When I parked it at 181 K miles, it took less than a quart between oil changes. My buddy alway had made sure the oil was changed every 2500 miles too. He was a stickler for Valvoline oil changes.

My curent car is a 1979 Olds W-30. Dad bought it new and he sold it to me 15 years ago or so. I live a long ways away from it, but my buddy keeps it running and ready for me to drive it when I come home. I''m going to spend a little more money on it now and get it shaped up. It''s still a looker but, it spent too much time in storage. You all know how hard that is on cars. SO, if any of you have some good experience with some vendors of the hard to find parts, I''d be happy to hear from you.
