My new 71 442

Default My new 71 442

Just picked up my dream car....71, 442 and I need help. First order of businessis the motor.. it has a 350n rocket. Im going to put a 455 in it. What problems will there be? Could I still run headers with the 455?? SOS

Was the 350 stock? (I doubt it would be), if you go with a 455, do the springs in the front, make sure the suspension will handle the additional weight. Personally I would go with a little lumpyer cam, not to far off from stock, a little more duration but use one that a cam wheel needs to be used to advance it. I have had the best performance utilizing this. Compression at 10 or 9.5 to one will do considering todays fuel. Make it breath, that means headers, cam, 2.5+ exhaust, as far as carburation or fuel injection understand the altitude you are at makes a huge difference for carburation and the cam you choose.
