Hello all...I'm originally from Long Island, NY but living here in Berks County, PA for the past 6 years.

Owner of a 1980 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme which I bought used WAY back in 1985. It was my daily driver for a number of years, even after I bought my 1990 Mazda MX-6 brand new in 1989. The Cutlass was mostly reliable up until 1999, when I took it off the road to become a resto-mod project. It originally had the anemic, but reliable, 260 V8 with the 2-bbl carb. I got a rebuilt Olds 350 from my brother, out of his '76 Delta 88, which basically fell apart around the engine and trans. The Cutlass did come with the Turbo 350 trans, which was kind of surprising given the anemic powerplant. I did swap out the wimpy steering box for a faster ratio box out of a late '80s Monte SS, which was really the first and only mod I ever did to the car. I always had intentions of upgrading the powerplant, and did acquire a couple of Olds 403 engines, which I never did get around to swapping into the Cutlass. I ended up trading those away at some point, I think one for a low mileage 'Iron Duke' 4-cyl engine for an '80 Chevy Monza.

Anyway, from 1998 until I moved here in 2004, the Cutlass sat on my driveway. Little did I know at the time, but the A/G-body cars were susceptible to frame rot (which I'm sure most everyone familiar with these cars knows). Had I known this, I would have kept the car garaged rather than exposed to the elements. Since I moved here, the car has been garaged to try and prevent further rot of the frame, although I think it could be a lost cause and it may need a new frame. The body, fortunately seems like it has 'weathered' well in the elements, with little visible rust. The interior will also need to be replaced, particularly the rugs and the front seat, which were invaded by the local rodents for stuffing from the seats and the rugs for use as their toilet. (not entirely sure how they got in, but I think I left one of the windows open one winter since living here).

Long story short, I still want to one day drive my Cutlass out of the garage and back onto the street, hopefully with a new frame, a Grand National posi rear, new interior and new paint!
