I have what im told is an aircleaner for a 70-72 W30... it has the bottom steel part then an insert that locks on with a rubber sesl that seals against the hood, plus a top fiber piece with a wing nut holds the filter in. the hood acts as the top of the aircleaner. the louvers or scoops put air directly in. It is a stock piece not aftermarket. I cant find any pics of anyhting that lookks like it on the web, nor really know exactly what it is. does anyone know what im describing??

It might be...with a couple ofpieces missing.

I can't remember which of the three years was single or dual snorkel, but they used both. What you are missing is the "real" top that goes over the fiber cover, covers the entire top of the air cleaner and has a vacuum actuated flapper door.

Thats what i was figuring.. but i cant find pics of any dual snorkel ones.... Is what i have seems how its original, not aftermarket, is it worth anyhting you think??? Its no use to me. I see you can fish the assembly with reproduced parts with my original for about 150$... maybe its worth something i dunno... Ill just throw it in my pile with my 58' 352 parts...lol

After looking even closer, I'm sure that's not the original base, either. It would have a provision for crancase ventilation on both sides (W-30 intakes had PCV on the intake) and drain holes drilled in the base for any water sucked in through the scoops.

So what you have is an OAI air cleaner cover. Maybe you could ebay it, but I have no idea how much it would bring.

A 58??? SWEET!

It looks likean earlierdual snorkle NON-OAI base to me?? It definitely is not a 70 OAI item. It may not even be OLDS - maybe GTO?
