I have a 2002 Silhouette with an inop heated seat. I have determined that the seat bottom pad is the bad one. Does anyone know how to repair the heating pad? The dealer wants way too much and the junkyards will only sell whole seats!!!!

how bout a replacement that isnt GM?
here is a quick link to a place i googled for seat heaters. they show having GM replacements for about 160 bucks.

im sure there are alot more places that have them perhaps at a better price as well.
listen for a relay clicking when you turn on the switch. if you show power at the connector under the seat something in the carbon fiber is probably broken inside.
here is a link to an article on repair. there are others on the net as well.

i have not worked on one yet, but it appears that it isnt too bad to repair if you have the time and are at least good with a multimeter and soldering iron..... hope this helps.....
