Question Strange vibration, can anyone answer this?

Hi guys, Olds Silo minivan owner here. I'm getting a loud vibrating noise from this part:

It's in the rear of the vehicle, near the tire. It only makes noise when all the doors are closed. The engine doesn't have to be running either. I can't for the love of God figure out what this part is though. Any advice?

That is the air pump for the rear shocks. It will go on anytime ignition is on or vehicle is running. Usually will start up 30 seconds after the key in engaged and turn off after 5 seconds. It will go off and on depending on the load in the rear. If it keeps running you have a leaking shock and/or hose. It should not be on when ignition is off though.
