Question Trunk falls closed by itself - trunk struts?

Hello. A few years ago, I started having problems with the ol' Olds where the trunk would gradually fall closed on its own after having been accidentally left open in the garage for a few hours. Now, it can hardly hold its own weight anymore. I'd seen someone on YouTube replace these parts on another car, and I was wondering if this would most likely fix the problem, and if so, how I would go about doing this.

Thanks.

Yes, Amazon sells the parts and changing them out is easy. Just bolts at each end of the struts

Indeed. Got it done a number of years ago and the trunk doesn't fall closed anymore.

Does your trunk open all the way by itself?
