A few months ago the headlamp covers on my 1990 Trofeo began acting weird, opening sometimes, not opening or fully closing at other times. Now they are locked in the close position and cannot be opened even with the manual wheel located under the hood.

We've been using the car in daylight only and use the fog lamps for situations like early morning and dusk. Is this a common issue and is it worth fixing? I am the original owner and the vehicle has 100,000 miles on it.
