1992 Olds Eighty Eight Royale LS: Bought a couple months ago as a spare/back up car for our sons. Only has 77,000 miles on it. Previous owner was elderly and could no longer drive due to health concerns.

In any case, it has a parasitc current drain.

I can tell that someone has previously tried to solve the problem because several bulbs are missing from their sockets/holders.

I seem to have isolated it to the lighting circuit. i.e. fed from Fuse 15 in I/P fuse panel. The problem is that it seems to be intermittent. i.e. today when I finally isolated it to the lighting circuit, it was drawing about 5.3 amps which is what is drawn when any of the doors is opened. A few minutes later it was no longer drawing the current. I didn''t do or make any adjustments or actuate any switches as far as I can recall. At present no parasitic current is flowing.

I did notice that the ELC (Electronic Level Control) fuse would draw about .25 amps thru the ammeter when I connected it across the fuse holder of Fuse 3 (40A) in the LH Underhood Fuse Block but this seemed to settle down to only about 0.01 amp after a few seconds.

Any ideas how to go about finding the problem? The big problem is that is intermittent.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thks.
