Question Toronado Rear Strut Replace

I own a 1990 Toronado Trofeo. It is equipped with a factory rear air suspension setup. I need to replace the rear air struts (part #71801). The compressor for the struts hasn't worked for over a year. What I'd like to do is some form of conversion to a regular (non-air) strut and eliminate the air suspension system. I haven't been able to find a strut that would replace the air struts. I also haven't found any type of conversion kit. If I install the original type struts wih the air system not working what would be the result? I have driven the car for a year without the rear suspension not working properly and the ride was OK. If I install new 71801 struts is there a way of inflating the struts and keeping the air from leaking out? Maybe connecting the original air lines somehow to the new struts and plugging the air line to prevent leaks.

Thanks
