We have a 1999 Black 2 door coup V6 Alero. A bolt for the steer rack came off. If that were fixed it would run great. We're looking to sell the car or find a cheaper way of fixing it than the quote we originally got. Any ideas?

 

Just buy another bolt. Any hardware store would carry what you need.

 

Really? The guy we took it to said we needed to get a whole new rack. Do you know what the bolt is called or what we should ask for when we got to get it?

 

Well if its just missing a bolt that holds the rack up all you need is the bolt. If its something else you may need a new rack. If its leaking or making a clunking noise than the seals in the rack are bad.
