Im having a problem with my car its a 2002 Alero sedan with only 54,000 miles on it and I been noticing lately that sometimes the car has a bit of a hard time cranking over when i first start it then starts idles ok at times then kinda sputters a bit sometimes. Today I started the car and suddenly my service light came on and the car just started reving up on its own to 3000 rpms then it shut off on its own. And btw it wasnt just the service engine soon light that came on other lights have come on like the low coolant light and the Trac. control light at times. Its a 6cylinder.... What is going on here??

The low coolant light means (usually) just that: You need to check the coolant level. Your owners maunal will tell you how.

Do you mean the Low Trac light? It indicates that your traction control system has been activated, and is limiting engine power to prevent the wheels from spinning. It will go off a few seconds after the system determines it is no linger needed.

I would have a dealer scan the car to see why the service engine light came on. He will give you a code that should help diagnose the problem. Post it here when you get it.

AutoZone and Advance will scan the trouble codes for free.

WITH MILES THAT LOW YOU MIGHT WANT TO INVEST IN A CHILTONS MANUEL, WWW.CHILTONS.COM. THIS WILL ALLOW YOU TO PERFORM MANY OF THE REPAIRS YOURSELF. ALSO WWW.ALLDATA.COM IF YOU WANT TO SIGN UP FOR INSTANT REPAIR INFO. BUT THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FOR info.
