2002 Speedometer location

2002 Speedometer location

I'm trying to locate the output speedometer sensor on a 2002 alero tranny. Does anyone know where it's located? 2.2 liter

Schematic shows a Vehicle Speed Sensor with a yellow and a purple wire leaving it. I don't know where it's located but would expect it to be near the output shaft/differential/axels area. The wires go to the PCM.
