3.4 temp gauge problems

Sometimes my temp gauge stops working. I can reset the computer and then it works for awhile but stops a few days later. Could this be the temp sensor or the computer?

how is the temp in the car? is it blowing hot while the gauge reads cold or cold when it reads hot or what?

if it is running ok, accept for the gauge issues,i would guess that its a sending unit
