Default alero dies

2000 alero, 3.4L automatic

Driving on the roadway or highway it stalled randomly, noticed the RPM's going down so I put my foot on the gas pedal and it stalled...I rolled to a stop. Tried to start it and nothing. Let it sit for a couple minutes, starts up no problem and drives fine. Get home and no issues. I drive it the rest of the week and again, NO issues.

a week later I have been driving for ~1 hour with no problems. Almost home and it stalls again. This time the battery light flashed and then nothing. try to start it and it turns over but wont fire. Try again and it still wont fire. let it sit a minute and the engine doesn't respond at all. Try again and it still doesn't respond (doesnt turn over or anything). Let it sit a couple minutes, try again and it fires right up and I drive home. I let it sit for a while and try to start it 2-3 times and each time, NO problem.

Any ideas what this could be?? It happens so randomly I dont know where to start looking.

Any help is appreciated!

Default coil problems

could be the ignition coils overheatng and when they do the coils seperate and it wont fire on the engine not responding i dont know for sure could be a circuit breaker issue. not to sure on that. but had similair problems with it not firing when it got hot the coils wouldnt fire. had to replace them there are also kits that take the coils off the engine and mount to the fender then run plug wires from the coils to the plugs
