Hey everyone! I'm from Estonia (that's a small European country) and I have a 1999 Chevrolet Alero (that's identical to US Oldsmobile with different logos) and, therefore, I face the same problems as you guys - bad wheel bearing, blower resistor etc. The car itself is not bad at all (I spent about 300 bucks on it last 2 years), but now I have a new problem. Yesterday my blower resistor was replaced, so speeds 1 and 2 now work just fine. The odd thing is that the third speed doesn't work anymore (I have been using it for quite a while), but speeds 4 and 5 work perfectly. Is there another resistor that is responsible for the third speed?

 

No just one resistor, if it were me id be happy to have 4 out of 5 speeds working, unless this resistor is under waranty?

 

Right, there is only one resistor. I would do as wutagoalie suggested, return the resistor to where you bought it, after making sure it is installed correctly.
