I REALLY DONT THINK YOU HAVE A PROBLEM. 3/4 TEMPERATURE IS NOT REALLY A PROBLEM, HOWEVER CHECK YOUR OWNERS MANUEL OR CHECK WITH ANOTHER OWNER ON THEIR OWNERS MANUEL, IF YOU DO THE FLUSH BE ABSOLUTELY SURE YOU GET THE ANTIFREEZE-WATER MIXTURE CORRECT, THIS CAN CAUSE MAJOR PROBLEM,. GOOD LUCK..

An engine can run hotter without a thermostat. Without a thermostat, there is less of a restriction to the flow of antifreeze which allows the antifreeze to flow at a higher flow rate through the engine. If the antifreeze flows too fast it will not be given enough time to absorb the heat from the engine.

Frank,

Check your laws of thermodynamics. It's cooling that isn't being done if you don't have a thermostat or restrictor. You can also Google it. The subject has been beat to death many times.

Precisely, CJ if cooling isn't being done then the engine runs hotter. Like you said it's a matter of physics. It takes PHYSICAL TIME for the heat to transfer from the hotter item to the cooler. Make NO difference whether you are heating or cooling the flow of the heat is just flowing in the opposite direction. In a AC system, it take time for the heat in the air to be absorbed into the walls of the evaporator then into the expanding refrigerant vapor inside.

Frank,

Heating is passive...cooling is active. The water picks up the heat just fine...especially when you consider the area involved. It's the cooling that takes more time.

I really don't mean to be busting your chops, but it's an important point to understand the heating and cooling cycle and which one is failing here.
