Default Speaker under dashboard

Hi

Today my father changed broken blower motor resistor in his Chevrolet Alero (year 2001). And he found speeker (seemed to be tweeter - rather small) near blower motor under the dashbaord. It seems to be rather strange place for speaker. Should something like this be mounted there?

Regards, Marcin

I haven't seen one under the dash, got a picture of it? Is it wired in and working?

I have no picture but it is wired and seems to be working. They told me on GA forum that in that year (2001) it would be possible to have separate speaker for door and warning chimes. Maybe it is.

Regards, Marcin

But I think your Olds Alero is newer than my father Chevy Alero.

My Alero chimes are through the driver's speaker as well, and mine is a 2001.
You said Chevy Alero-maybe there are differences based on what country the car was delivered to.

Maybe. It is European version of Alero with European FM and additional factory amplifier.
