I dont know if anyone else out there had this problem but when starting the car it will turn over fast but will not start, but as soon as you give it a little gas it will fire right up. When it is cold it sometimes take 5 or 6 tries. I have already changed the fuel filter. Any suggestions, it has the 3.4L. Haven't owned car very long, dont know much about them.

Yesterday My wife drove her Alero home (2002) and she shut it off. When she went to move it 20 seconds later it would turn over fine but wouldn't start.I tried it and it kicked a little but no go. Now it won't even kick. I don't know but sounds to me like a fuel pump.

It's a 2.2 ecotec with 82,000km on it.

Same exact problem. The only thing I've seen online regarding the problem is that a ton of people seem to have teh same problem. This is not safe and they should recall the 2002 Alero. I talked to the customer service department just looking for a hint as to what it might be and got no where with them. I've shelled out like $400. I had the fuel filter changed, fuel system totally cleaned out, electric diagnostic, all kinds of stuff nobody knows what the problem is.
