Replacing factory stereo wtih after marke
#1
Who ever had their factory stereo replaced with an aftermarket stereo
in the 2001 3.5 model with the delco or boss stereo please reply.
Their telling me that it will have to be rewired from front to back and
it will cost over 400.00 . Or reply if there is a working wire harness
for the delco factory, onstar, steering wheel controls

I have a 97 Aurora and I've found that upgrading the rear speakers will make a HUGE DIFFERENCE! The factory rear speakers were not clear and crisp, so I replaced them when Jensen 3-way 6X9s and also installed a Subwoofer in the trunk. Each 6X9 has 400 watts feeding it, and the Sub has 800 watts feeding it (I used a 1600 watt 4 channel amp with Low-pass filters built-in and bridged the rear channels to feed the Sub). The front speakers are good quality, so I didn'tchange them (if it isn't broke-don't fix it!). The only visible change in the interioris the fader control that balances the sound between the 6X9s and the Sub thatI inserted under the steering wheel. Everyone that has heard it says it is one of the most clear systems they have heard! I just smile knowing that I did it myself and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg!
