i have a 1995 with 133k miles. problems have been few. i have driven the car 30k miles. i have replaced tires ( normal ) i have replaced ignition modules ( normal ) i have tuned up engine ( normal ) i have enjoyed the cadillac ride. i will need to replace the a/c ( normal ) within the next 6 monthes. i am currently getting 18 + mpg and 23 + mpg on the highway. with 250 horsepower i shall not complain. leather interior and all the bells and whistles. great car i would buy another one . check yours out and buy and ride.

I have a 01 Olds 3.5, which to me would be better to purchase than the Northstar. Taken the fact the gas is almost $7 a gallon. The Aurora is a hot car and you will get a lot of head turns. Although, the wheel bearings may need to be replaced after 10 months to a year of having the car. Which is anywhere from $200 - $500 for parts and labor. Just be careful with rough roads and best advice is to drive like an old lady! LOL, these cars are expensive with major problems, also keep the engine with fresh oil and filters. You should be good, I have had mine for a year now and the only major thing I had to do was.2 Motor mounts, 4 wheel bearings, new tires, etc. THe only thing is to keep it up and you will have to spend money to do that.

Almost forgot to add, if you are thinking of a 2001 - 2003 Old Aurora then they have bad camshaft in the engine. I guess from wear and tear or not keeping the oil changes on them. Although, the features are great and I would say they are better than Impalas, Grand Prix's, Chargers, Magnums and whatever else car. They just look better than all those cars, have more features and I know that one day it will be a collector's item.

I would tell you that this is a great car. I have a 2001 V8, 4.0 an as far as a need for power, you'll never long for. But the car does have issues,an needs consistantpreventive maintenance.I wouldsuggest the 03which is the last model of the Aurora. The 2001 in which i have had a lot of the first yr. glitches. By 03 they cleared up some of them. The v6 version actually had more issues cause it was a relatively new engine( known as the "short star").The V8has been around for years an is clearly proven to be reliable. But with gas prices being as high as they are you shouldweightyour options thoroughly. A fully loaded V8 is a luxury vehicle which can hold it's own with the lights of the Benz 3 series, bmw 5 series, as well as the lexus GS. The main difference is the fact that all these vehicles are rear wheel an the Aurora is front wheel drive. Which in reality, means that the foreign cars handle better, while the Aurora performs much better in snow sleet an rain. Do your research the choice is yours..
