Question Drivers Door Ajar

Hello, I have a problem that's driving me nuts. I have a 2002 Bravada and the drivers door ajar warning stays on, and the courtesy lights stay on till I turn them off. I replaced the electrical components of the latch but I still have the same problem. Replacing the screw on unit required removing a plastic channel with a two terminal electrical connector on the end from the old part, and gluing it on the new one. Is that channel the door ajar switch? That's the only thing that wasn't replaced so that would make sense. If that's the problem does anyone know where I can get a new one? Could I install a push button type switch and bypass the original switch? Any help would be appreciated.
