Default 1972 Cutlass Questions

Ive got a 72 Cutlass Supreme, Im just getting into the oldsmobile game. Wondering what everyone thinks the best motor gear ratio combo is. Ive got a 350 in it right now and I think the final ratio is something like 3.73. Ive got a 455 just sitting that Im debating on putting in. Also howcome I can't find anyone that has a 400 in similar cars to mine? Thanks

Because they stopped making the Olds 400 after 1969. Most guys somewhere along the way swapped them out for 455s.
Drop in the 455 and have fun. The torque difference is night and day.

3.73 is a little low for a big block. Put in the 455 have fun 3.23 is a better gear for a big block.
