key stuck in ignition

I have a 96 cutlass supreme and the key is stuck in the ignition. I believe it is not going completely into park. Can anyone help me with this problem?

it sounds to me like the trigger in the shifter is not being hit enough to allow the key to pull out. is it a floor or column shift?
