Default yet another camshaft discussion

thinking of switching to this cam next spring:

going with a camshaft with degrees of intake @.050 between 206 and 213 . at least somewhere in that range. either lunati or comp cam.

Question, can i keep my stock torque converter if i go with a cam in that range? if not what should i be going with?

have a 71 cutlass S with a 350. i don't believe the transmission has been touched so i'm guessing its stock.

going to put a shift kit in and change out rear gears to at least 3:23, maybe 3:42 (guessing at exact gear ratio).

running headers and flowmasters. edelbrock performer rpm intake. 650 CFM carb. looking for more low end torque and better fuel economy.
