1997 Oldsmobile 88 security light came on at 143.000 miles. Car still starts like new, but from what I've been reading from others who had the same problem, the real problems are yet to come. In particular, a total failure of the start-up. I'm trying to see if a module is going bad,or something else. I checked my Passkey fuse,and it's fine. And unhooked,and re-connected the battery cables,and the security light stayed on. If anyone can share some enlightenment on what I can,most likely,expect,your words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,G.L.

 

Check the Alero forum in the Passlock sticky at the top for a link to a good article that describes your Passkey system, it will be helpful in diagnosing your problem.
Sorry I can't help more, I don't know that system well.
