I have a creaking noise coming from the springs of my 1998 Olds 88LS. The noise appears to be coming from the bottom of the springs. Is there some kind of bushing or gasket there that needs replacing?

Thanks,

QC

its a good chance that the squeaking you are hearing is actually from the lower ball joint or the lower a-arm bushings. a simple way to test either of these is to crank your wheel all the way to one side (swap for the other side of the car when you are testing) and spray the ball joint and/or a-arm bushings with oil or WD40, then bounce the car up and down. if spraying one or the other stops the squeak, then thats where your problem is. if the bushings are making the noise, check to see if they are worn or severely cracked. if its the ball joint, it might be a good idea to have it replaced before too long, because that means that its been dry long enough to start wearing or corroding.
