1964 "98" 394 vapor locking
I'm having problems with vapor lock on my 394 (64"98" custom sport coupe). I re-routed the fuel line to the carb and put on an electric fuel pump. Fuel filter is clear. I plan to remove the recently added hood insulator for better heat dissapation. ANY additional Ideas or proposed solutions?
You might want to check for collapsed radiator hoses after engine has reached operating temp?
Are you losing coolant?
When you experience what you think is vapor lock:
1- Does the engine die due to a lack of fuel, or
2- Is it a matter of it will not restart after shut off when warm?
3- Do you still experience vapor lock with the electric fuel pump?
4- Did you disable the mechanical fuel pump when you went electric?
5- Is there a rubber fuel line hose anywhere in the system? Has it been checked to see if it collapses?
