At what temp are the cooling fans on a 1996 Aurora supposed to come on? The temp gauge on the dashboard was at 240 and never saw the fans come on. I checked the fuse and it is good.

Thank you.

I think it should kick them on at about 200.

are there sensors and relays to turn them on at a certain temp? i don''t have any repair info for this car, so any help would be much appreciated.

I HAVE A 1995 AURORA . THE OWNERS MANUAL STATES; IF THE GAGE POINTER MOVES INTO THE RED DANGER ZONE A FAST PULSED CHIME WILL SOUND AND THE MESSAGE ENGINE HOT...A/C OFF WILL APPEAR INT THE MESSAGE CENTER. IF THE COOLANT TEMPERATURE IF OVER 261 DEGREES THE MESSAGE; HOT ; STOP ENGINE WILL APPEAR. TURN OFF YOUR ENGINE ASAP. CHECK YOUR COOLAND LEVEL AND MIXTURE. YOU MAY HAVE PANICKED PREMATURELY. SO I WOULD SAY THAT 240 DEGREES IS NOT A RED ALERT. THE MIXTURE COULD BE THE PROBLEM , CORRECT THE MIXTURE...THAT IS CRITICAL.
