When climbing even the slightest grade in O'drive & below 70mph, the drive train starts "bucking", like one turned the ignition off for a split second. This continues 'till I give it quite a bit more throttle, when it then downshifts. It does the same thing whether it's in or out of cruise-control. The engine is in great shape; smooth, instant start, good idle & no rough spots on rpm. It seems as tho' the tranny can't decide when or whether or not to downshift. I've studied the shop manual(Clymer's) but can't seem to get a handle on this glitch. I'm concerned 'cause it gets pretty violent 'till it shifts down....Any ideas?? The veh. has 144,000 & other than this everything works like a Swiss watch. My last resort: the dealer/agency

it sounds like the step down feature may be out of adjustment...
