I can get my car to start but as soon as I step on the gas it dies. It is a 1990 Oldsmobile cutlass supreme coupe. I was wondering if it could need a new fuse in the fuel relay? Or any suggestions? Please help. I do not know any good mechanics! Any suggestions?

I''ve had this happen on a two stroke moped... If you have other carbs, put them on and see what happens. Anyway, turn your engine on and leave it running for fifteen minutes. Then touch the gas as slightly as possible... And see if you can get the engine to run on just a bit higher rpm.
I''ve also seen this problem in a snowmobile, two stroke engine, the problem here was that the engine was seized.
Be well!

Check your fuel pressure and fuel filter

fuel pressure should be around 40 - 47 psi(fuel injectored engines )

To help could you give us which motor you have .the above specs are for the 3.8L , 3.3L & 3.1L.

check the fuel filter, air filter, or you can check for a bad relay.
