Default coolant under plenum

95 olds 88 with 3800 type11 stopped running. pulled plenum, water on top of intake and in pistons. pulled heads and found no obvious sighs of blown head gasket. compression was low on front lft cyl, no signs of damaged pistons. 107000 miles. where did coolant come from?

Please don't post duplicate threads on the same issue. I have redirected posts from the other thread to this one.

The 3800 Series 2 is known for upper and lower intake manifold gasket leaks. Felpro has a new metal gasket design out that is much better than the GM one. I'm betting that will solve your problem.
Also, the intakes tend to melt around where the EGR valve goes in, leading to leaks.
