Default Electrical issue with a 1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme SL

The door alarm that dings when my car doors are open also dings periodically when the doors are closed and the car is not running. What could be causing this? How do I disable the door alarm? Please let me know.

There are door ajar switches, either in the door jamb, or in the latches. If they're in the jamb, one of them will be obviously broken, look for one either smashed in, or bent. As far as shutting it off, I believe there's a "chime module" under the drivers side of the dash (listen for it with door open). you should be able to unplug it.

Hello jrsixx and thank you for your timely response. I tried fooling around with the door ajar button that's located in the drivers side door jamb. It's not broken or bent, but it doesn't seem to function correctly anymore. I will try to look for the "chime module" and unplug it. Thanks again!
