Front Drivers Side Sounds

I have a clatter/clicking sound when travelling on bumping, rough terrain (gravel roads etc.) It is coming from the front drivers side wheel area. Any suggestions what this might be? It does not make the sound when travelling on normal paved roadways.

It could be that your wheel bearings are starting to go, or ball joints
