Hi all. Just wanted to know if anbody else got some pics or
installed a aftermarket air filter. I have had mine for about two
weeks now. As far as how well it works I will let you know soon
(test for about a month). To see as far as gas mileage, any gains
on freeway etc. etc.... I had to mod the stock airbox. So that
the PCM wasn't exposed (i guess the only heat sheild from the engine
compartment). I did not mod the one from my car. Went to a
salvage yard for one cost me about $15 and some change. Let me
know what you think.

Update:As far as if it is worth it. Yes. There is some
gains mostly on freeways (highway miles). 0.9 mph gain using highest
grade of gas. 0.4 using regular gas. So it should pay for
itself in under a year. City miles almost the same just a slight
difference. Given I have not change any other fluids in my
car yet (only oil so far) my car has about 80,000 miles on it.

I'm going to have have a local shop take off the u bend see if
that helps. Don't know if I want to do a muffler set up
yet. As far as how it sounds, sounds the same under normal
conditions. Under heavy use (hammering the gas pedal) you hear a
real aggressive sound. Can't give you numbers as far as
torque. But it feels stronger.

Numbers based on friend having the same car year and model,
mileage slightly lower than mine 2000 intigue GX (and bone stock). We both took
it to the track. Not going say how fast we went. Trust me
we weren't the fastest there. lol But I did beat him by
about half a second. And just to make sure he drove my car and
beat me by almost 3/4 of a second (B@$t#rD)!

The only downfall like I have posted before was just the mod of
the airbox itself and that damn temp sensor. Had a hell of a time
trying to get the temp sensor to fit in housing. But it sealed up
nicely after it was done. Like I said before if you have a junk
yard near by and if you can find a stock air box for a cheap cost GET
IT! Just in case you want it stock again you have that option.
