Trunk light in 2001 Intrigue

Just spent a few minutes trying to figure out where the wire in the trunk goes to. The trunk light is not working, and I could not find a place to plug the floating wire to. Any suggestions as to how I can determine if I really do have a light in the trunk?
Where would it be located. There is a protective cover for the third brake light and I took that down but dont see anywhere to plug this wire into to get a trunk light.
Is the light mounted in the trunk lid? or under the parcel shelf??
Thanks

on my 2000 it is in the lip of trunk opening right below the third brake lite--behind the gasket that surrounds the trunk opening

On my car the third brake light is on the parcel shelf in the back window.
Is the light in the area of the third brake light? Not on the trunk lid, right.

on my 2000 it is under the rim of the trunk--just behind thr gasket that seals the trunk--not on the lid!! under the third lite near bottom of the back window glass-but in the trunk!!

Thanks for your help on this one. I managed to stuff my 65 year old body into the trunk today as the sun was shining brightly and found that there is an emply place in the rail for the trunk light fixture and nothing to be found anywhere.
I did manage to get out after a while. Now I know ....
The connector that it floating loose has an orange wire and an orange and black stripe wire.. Must be for the nonexistent light.
Thanks again for your help..

Cliff
